Georgia Milestones
My Role: Editor + Animation + Motion/VFX
Project description
Using existing illustrations designed for Georgia Department of Education, I needed to animate characters and scenes. Since this video was focused on teaching teachers how to navigate newly designed websites another task was to illustrate existing websites and animate the functionality of the sites. All the elements of the pages had to function like the real sites while maintaining the style of the established illustrations.

While we were filming the documentary Breaking Trough, we had the opportunity to meet many amazing people. A part of our team that has been extremely helpful is the Victory Fund. They are a foundation that provides fiscal support and training for openly LGBT candidates as they run their political races. As Victory Fund has provided us with contacts for the film, we have taken several trips up to Washington D.C. to film interviews of 31 candidates and their "Stories of Victory".

The habits modeled in this video show new parents some of the best ways they can help prepare their kids to be readers. Talking with your child, listening to him or her, making sure he or she is a part of the conversation - these are all ways to develop crucial language skills.
Ferst Foundation operates in several states, but these videos were shot near their central office in Madison, Georgia, with a cast of local volunteers.

The Artist
My Role: Editor + Motion/VFX + Camera
Project description
Mousa introduces Paradise Built on the Bones of the Slaughtered – a monumental sculpture for the ArtPrize competition – based on the Syrian-American experience; welded towers display religious texts burned to ashes.
I collaborated with Cindy Abel to create 3 videos to promote Mousa's sculpture as the competition drew near. Unfortunately, his art piece was suddenly rejected from the competition just days before ArtPrize started, losing his arranged venue. Mousa started to garner attention as the videos were released while working day and night to find a new venue for his sculpture. Launch his site in the link below to see his news interviews and learn more about his artwork.
For this project, we used existing footage of the books, which was then complimented with addition footage I shot of the sculpture on a black background. In order to keep a uniform style I needed to cut and composite the book footage on black, as well as, composite in fire, smoke, and ash throughout the piece to blend with footage that already had flames.

Feature Length Documentary Film
My Role: DP + Editor + Motion/VFX + Co-Producer
Project description
I joined forces with Cindy Abel (Atlantis Moon Productions) to film the award-winning documentary, BREAKING THROUGH, where openly LGBT elected officials at all levels – including the first gay US Senator, Tammy Baldwin – share their stories of self-doubt and triumph over multiple barriers ranging from race and poverty to gender and sexual orientation, revealing a deeply personal, rarely-seen side of politicians and gay people.
Though featuring politicians, it isn’t about politics: it’s about people who feel fear and shame, yearning to live meaningful lives. They reveal how they broke through internal and external barriers to achieve the future they envisioned, and by showing that “anything is possible,” they impact people from all walks of life.
